When to Use: When your mind is resisting sleep
Description: A soothing blend that will ease you to sleep.
Ingredients and Benefits:
- Bergamot - calming, induces sleep
- Juniper Berry - eases anxiety and assists in relaxation
- Mandarin Green - sooths nervous tension and irritability
- Ho Wood - eases stress and anxiety
How to Use: Use approximately 30-45 minutes before you want to go to sleep. Open inhaler or scent jar; hold 1/2 - 1" from nose; inhale gently through nose. Feel the scent relaxing your body and mind. Use for 3-5 deep breaths through nose. Repeat in 10-15 minutes until drowsy. May use again if you wake up during the night. If desired, leave scent jar open by your bed. May remove sifter top for increased scent.
Additional Information: Additional interventions to support sleep: Exercise during the day, but within 3 hrs of bed time, limit exercise to a casual walk. Stretch. Take a warm bath or shower. Turn off TV and screens an hour or so before bed. Most people sleep better in cool rooms. Journal or make a "brain dump" list before bed--write down every single thing on your mind. Pray. Listen to a "sleep music" or Bible reading app on your phone. For kids: develop a bedtime routine, including bath, snacks, prayers, reading, etc.
Consider medications--have you started taking anything new? Or increased the dosage of a medication? Some medications have a side effect of insomnia, even if you didn't experience it when you first started taking the medication.
